The Story
IWC has a long history of making watches for pilots the world over, known for their oversized original pilots watches IWC have made many incarnations over the years.
This particuar model is dedicated to the Pilot and Novelist Antoine de Saint Expury. Made in only 500 pieces worldwide. This case of this extremely rare and important version is made of 18ct red gold with a solid 18ct red gold case back depicting Saint-Exupery's Southern Mail Route . It is held on an oversized brown calfskin strap with a matching 18ct red gold pin buckle. Fitted to the watch is an IWC calibre 30710, automatic self-winding movement with hours, minutes, central hacking seconds, UTC counter in aperture. The dial is brown with applied luminous Arabic numerals and transferred detailing. Fitted with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass.
Item is in overall good condition and is currently in good working order.
