The Story
As the story goes, a Portuguese sailor came to IWC asking whether they could make a pocket watch that could fit on the wrist. The Portugieser was born.
Many years on the range has evolved in to many different designs. The range has become synonymous with class and elegance, which paved the way for oversized watch designs and trends.
This exquisite example was launched after the success of the more traditional Portugieser chronograph. The Portugieser automatic 7-day power reserve watch. Made in an all 18ct 5N gold case with a sapphire crystal glass exhibition case back. Held on a genuine brown alligator strap with matching 18ct 5N gold folding clasp. Highly complicated and decorated IWC Calibre 52010 mechanical self-winding movement, fitted with the very powerful Breguet mainspring allowing a 7 day power reserve off the wrist. Silver dial with applied gold numerals and hands, with indicators showing power reserve, seconds and date in aperture . Finished with a sapphire crystal glass.
The watch is in unworn condition since original purchase and is currently in good working order.
The watch has never been serviced or polished.
