Given this name for two reasons, the 1815 is the birth year of Ferdinand A.Lange and the UP/DOWN referring to the brands iconic UP/DOWN power-reserve indicator, a device first used in historic pocket watches and marine chronometers. A Lange patent which was granted in 1879. Made in an 18ct rose gold case with a sapphire crystal glass exhibition case back. Held on a genuine brown alligator strap, the watch is fitted with a highly decorated Lange manufacture calibre L051.2 mechanically hand-wound movement with sub seconds and power reserve features. The dial is silver with transferred numerals and finished with a sapphire crystal glass.
