In 2004 for the 30th anniversary of the auction house Antiquorum F.P Journe created 3 models for a special auction in aid of ICM research for brain and spinal cord diseases. Such was the popularity of the 3 models presented, the manufacture decided to produce a limited series of the piece. For the first time, the brand had made a watch that was not round but a flattened turtle shape. The Vagabondage was born. This particular model presented is the second in the series, The Vagabondage II. It is produced in a limited edition of 68 watches. The case is 18ct rose gold and is held on a genuine black crocodile strap, with a matching 18ct rose gold folding clasp. Fitted with a highly complicated and decorated mechanically hand wound movement made in 18ct rose gold with digital jumping hours and minutes, specially designed for this watch. It has a smoked sapphire dial, showing the back plate and bridges of the movement as well as the digital time display and seconds. The watch is finished off with a sapphire crystal glass and caseback.
