In 2007 IWC intorduced a new line in to their range, this was to be called the new Da Vinci collection. This new range included a limited edition Perpetual Calendar Chronograph edition Kurt Klaus watch, named after the man who invented the calendar, it commemorates his Golden Jubilee with the company. There were 500 pieces made, this particular model, however, is the the most special of all the watches that were produced, as it is case number 01/500. The case is made in a 18ct red gold three part case, with solid case engraved case back. Mechanical self winding movement with chronograph, perpetual calendar with day, date, month, phases of moon and year apertures on dial. Silvered pinstripe dial with applied gold markers and transferred detialing. Finished with a sapphire crystal glass.
