Platinum IWC Vintage Portofino
The Platinum IWC Vintage Portofino is a rare, celebratory timepiece. IWC created a range of watches celebrating 140 years of watchmaking, one watch designed of each collection. These watches were called the “Vintage” collection. These models were available in stainless steel, 18ct white gold and 18ct rose gold. There were however some made in Platinum. These were sold as a set of six watches in a limited edition of 500 sets. They included the following models: Portofino, Portugieser, Pilots, Ingenieur, Aquatimer and Da Vinci. This particular, very rare model is the Vintage Portofino. The case is made in solid Platinum and is held on a genuine black alligator strap. It is fitted with a manufacture caliber 98800 mechanically had-wound movement. The dial on the limited Platinum Portofino is slivered with applied roman numerals, showing offset seconds and moonphase functions. It is completed with an anit-reflective sapphire crystal glass and case back. Limited edition number 04/500. Part of a private collection. To be sold separately or as a set.
