As legend tell’s us, a Portuguese sailor came to IWC asking whether they could make a pocket watch that could fit on the wrist. The Portuguese was born.
Many years on the range has evolved in to many different designs. The range has become synonymous with class and elegance, which paved the way for oversized watch designs and trends. This exquisite example was launched after the success of the more traditional Portuguese chronograph and based on the same design as the automatic 7 day power reserve model.
The Portuguese Tourbillion hand wound watch, made in all 18ct rose gold, it is held on a brown alligator strap with 18ct rose gold folding clasp. Fitted with a highly complicated and decorated IWC calibre 98900 mechanically hand-wound movement with tour billion escapement and sub second indicator. The dial is silver with applied rose gold numerals and exposed tour billion escapement aperture. It is finished with a sapphire crystal glass and exhibition case back.
