So the legend is told, a Portuguese sailor came to IWC asking whether they could make a pocket watch that could fit on the wrist. The Portugieser was born.
Many years on the range has evolved in to many different designs. The range has become synonymous with class and elegance which paved the way for oversized watch designs and trends.
This particular model is the Portugiese Yacht Club Chronograph. Designed to be more sporty. It was the first model to incorporate IWC’s inhouse manufacture Cailbre 89361 mechanical self-winding movement. Features of the movement include the date and flyback chronograph functions. Held in an all 18ct rose gold case and held on a black rubber strap with matching 18ct rose gold folding clasp. The dial is slate grey with applied rose gold numerals. The watch is finished off with a sapphire crystal glass and case back.
