In 1959 a Swiss patent for time zone watches is awarded to Patek Philippe and in 1999 a new Swiss patent is awarded for a unique mechanism enabling the user, when changing time zones, to correct all the displays collectively by the single push of a button, without affecting the rate accuracy of the movement. This new patented system is exclusive to Patek Philippe’s World Time watches. Now discontinued the very fine and rare Patek Philippe ref 5130. Made in an all 18ct yellow gold case with a sapphire crystal glass exhibition case back. Held on a hand stitched genuine brown alligator strap with matching 18ct yellow gold folding clasp with Calatrava cross. Fitted with the highly complicated and decorated Manufacture calibre 240 HU movement. Features include world time, 24-hour and day/night indicators for all 24 timezones. Silver-grey dial with guilloched centre and transferred cities. Finished with a sapphire crystal glass. The timepiece is pre-owned and offered in double-sealed factory condition.
