All Platinum case, held on a genuine black alligator strap with matching folding clasp, mechanical self-winding movement with retrograde date, day, month, leap year and moon phase functions, silver/grey dial with applied gold markers, finished with a sapphire crystal glass and case back.


The first known Patek Philippe perpetual calendar wrist watch was first made in 1925. The perpetual calendar came in to regular production in 1941 with the reference 1526. Since that time, the essential gentleman’s grand complication has worn many different guises. This particular very fine and rare model is the Patek Philippe grand complication ref 5496, Now discontinued it is made in an all Platinum round polished case, with platinum trademark round brilliant diamond at 6 O’clock and sapphire crystal glass exhibition case back. Held on a genuine shiny brown alligator strap with matching platinum folding clasp. Fitted with the highly complicated and decorated Manufacture calibre 324 S QR mechanical self-winding movement with perpetual calendar, retrograde date, day, month, leap year indicator and moon phase in apertures on dial. Rhodium/silver dial with applied pink gold markers and transferred detailing. Finished with a sapphire crystal glass. The timepiece is pre-owned in factory double sealed condition.
