In 1959 a Swiss patent for time zone watches is awarded to Patek Philippe and in 1999 a new Swiss patent is awarded for a unique mechanism enabling the user, when changing time zones, to correct all the displays collectively by the single push of a button, without affecting the rate accuracy of the movement. This new patented system is exclusive to Patek Philippe’s World Time watches. In 2016 Patek Philippe launched a reference that dates back to a 1940’s model, ref 5930. It was the first time Patek Philippe had integrated their world time movement with an added Chronograph in the modern era. Made in an all 18ct white gold case and held on a hand stitched genuine blue alligator strap with matching 18ct white gold folding clasp. Fitted with the highly complicated and decorated Manufacture calibre CH 28-520 HU movement. Features include world time, 24-hour and day/night indicators for all 24 timezones and chronograph. Blue dial with guilloched centre and transferred cities. Finished with a sapphire crystal glass and case back.
